Eight Bulldogs Named All-Americans in 2008

Duluth, MN (5/20/2008) Eight UMD Bulldog players were named 2008 All-Americans by the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA). The MCLA is a national organization of college lacrosse programs. With over 200 teams in two divisions, the MCLA represents the fastest growing segment of college men's lacrosse.

UMD, which advanced to the MCLA Quaterfinals and finsihed the season ranked 3rd in the country, has eight honorees. Seniors Jake Launert, Todd Frykman, Ryan Groom, Pete Nelson and junior Casey Mithun were the upper classmen to earn All-American honors. Two sophmores, Dan Pitzl and Charlie Nesser, each earned the award as well.

Jonathan Prokop, a senior, was awarded with Academic All-American by the MCLA.

Sophmore Kevin Whiteis was named to the MCLA All Tournament Team.
