Bulldogs Announce 2011 Schedule

After finishing the 2010 regular season with a 12-3 record, which included one of the toughest out of conference schedules in the country, where they outscored their opponents 239 to 80, winning their 13th UMLL title and making their 9th appearance in the MCLA tournament, the University of Minnesota - Duluth men's lacrosse team will be taking it to the road to face yet another very competitive schedule.

The 2011 Bulldog schedule includes 7 UMLL Conference matchups and 7 contests against out of conference teams. The out of conference games matches the bulldogs against 5 teams who were at nationals in 2010.


The University of Minnesota Duluth opens the regular with some UMLL competition before heading west. They will start the season on February 13th when they take on Marquette University. The following week on February 27th, the Bulldogs will play University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point.

The out of conference matchups will entail three road trips. For the first trip UMD will head to Utah to face BYU on March 3rd and then the University of Utah on March 5th.

For the second trip the Bulldogs will be in Portland to face off with the University of Oregon on March 18th and the University of Colorado on March 20th.


UMD will then head to Ames where they will meet up with UMLL competition on March 26th when they play Iowa State University and St. Cloud State University on March 27th.


On April 2nd the Bulldogs will face Mankato State University and first year MCLA program Concordia University on April 3rd.

The Bulldogs will then conclude their out of conference travel with a trip to Illinois to take on the University of Illinois on April 8th and Michigan State University on April 9th.

The remaining regular season games will take place in Duluth as the Bulldogs face UMLL rivals the University of Minnesota on April 15th and visiting Sonoma State University on April 17th to wrap up their out of conference games and regular season.
